Awakening to Union, the Mind of Christ, and the Rest of Your True Identity — Written by Prophet of Grace PAULYB
Many believers were taught to think God is far away. They were taught to think healing only happens if God decides to come down from heaven for a moment and touch them. So many people live begging. Striving. Crying. Trying to get God to notice them. People were taught: “One touch changes everything.” “One prayer line.” “One miracle service.” And listen — miracles are real. Healing is real. Encounters are real. But there comes a point where you must lose the carnal understanding that God is separate from you. Yeshua did not come to reveal distance. He came to reveal union.
This is why Yeshua said: “Woe unto you lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves…” — Luke 11:52. Notice what He said. “You entered not in yourselves.” Religion taught people to search outside themselves while never awakening to the Christ dwelling within. But the Kingdom was never about separation. Yeshua said: “The kingdom of God is within you.” — Luke 17:21. Paul said: “In Him we live, and move, and have our being.” — Acts 17:28. The gospel is not about trying to convince God to come near. The gospel is the revelation that God already joined Himself to humanity in Christ.
Christ in You
There is a deeper reality many believers have never fully awakened to. Paul called it: “Christ in you, the hope of glory.” — Colossians 1:27. Not Christ far away. Not Christ visiting occasionally. Christ in you. Peter said: “Partakers of the divine nature.” — 2 Peter 1:4. This does not mean humanity became independent little gods. It means humanity was included in the life of God through union with Christ. The cross was not God changing His mind about humanity. The cross revealed humanity was always loved and included in Christ. The problem is not that God abandoned humanity. The problem is that humanity fell asleep to union.
The old man is not your body. The old man is the false identity built on separation-thinking. Paul said: “Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him…” — Romans 6:6. The old man is: the fear-based identity, the orphan mindset, the illusion of separation, the Adamic consciousness that believes it is disconnected from God. But your true identity is hidden in Christ. Paul said: “For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.” — Colossians 3:3. And again: “It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me.” — Galatians 2:20. A sinner is a person asleep to union. A saint is a person awakening to union.
Strange Sickness and the Soul
Sometimes strange things happen in the body. There are times when doctors can help, and thank God for doctors. If something can be fixed medically, use wisdom. But there are also moments when people experience strange symptoms that medicine cannot fully explain. Weird pain. Heavy exhaustion. Mysterious sickness. Cycles that keep repeating. This does not mean God is punishing someone. God is love. “He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.” — 1 John 4:8. Love does not torment people. Love restores people. Sometimes the deeper invitation is: “Slow down.” “Pay attention.” “You are living outside your rest.” “You are overwhelmed by fear.” “You have drifted from peace.” “You are forgetting your union.”
The soul can become exhausted when a person constantly lives from striving, fear, shame, anxiety, and separation-thinking. This does NOT mean every sickness is caused by wrong thinking. Yeshua corrected that idea. When speaking about the blind man, He said: “Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents…” — John 9:3. But Scripture does show that the inner life affects the outer life. Fear affects the body. Stress affects the body. Peace affects the body. Love affects the body. Solomon wrote: “A merry heart doeth good like a medicine…” — Proverbs 17:22. The body and soul are deeply connected.
Physician, Heal Thyself
There comes a place where you stop living only from outward dependence and begin awakening to the Life already within you. Yeshua said: “Physician, heal thyself.” — Luke 4:23. Why? Because Christ already dwells in you. Healing is not about convincing a distant God to finally care. Healing is awakening to union with the Life already flowing through your being. Sometimes another person praying for you is beautiful. But sometimes the deeper invitation is for you to awaken inwardly to the mind of Christ and rest in union. This is why learning stillness matters. Before sleep. Upon waking. In quiet moments. Not striving. Not trying to force spiritual experiences. But learning to rest in the awareness of Christ within.
The Subconscious and the Inner Man
The subconscious is not “another god-self” living inside you. This must be understood clearly. From a Christological perspective, the subconscious is simply the deep inner realm where: beliefs, identity, emotions, memories, inward agreements, imagination, and heart awareness operate beneath surface-level thinking. Scripture often calls this: the heart, the inner man, the hidden man of the heart. Peter wrote: “The hidden man of the heart…” — 1 Peter 3:4. The subconscious matters because whatever a person deeply believes inwardly eventually shapes their outward life. Solomon said: “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he…” — Proverbs 23:7. The subconscious is not your savior. Christ is your savior. But the inner life becomes the soil where either: union truth grows, or separation lies grow.
The Priestly Self — Through Christ
The priestly imagery in Scripture points to surrender, communion, and union with God. In the Old Testament, the priest brought sacrifice. Symbolically, this points to the surrender of the false self. Not destroying your humanity. Not rejecting your body. But surrendering the old Adamic mindset rooted in fear and separation. The “priestly self” should not be understood as some separate mystical being inside you. It is the inward awakening to your union with Christ. Jesus is our Great High Priest. “Seeing then that we have a great high priest…” — Hebrews 4:14. And believers now participate in His priesthood. “Ye are a royal priesthood…” — 1 Peter 2:9. The priestly life is the surrendered life. The restful life. The life awakened to communion instead of separation.
The Body Was Never the Enemy
The body is not evil. This is important. Some teachings accidentally drift into Gnosticism and treat the body like a prison. But Jesus did not reject humanity. He became human. “And the Word was made flesh…” — John 1:14. And Paul said: “For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.” — Colossians 2:9. The issue is not “body bad, spirit good.” The issue is whether we are living from: the false self, or union with Christ. The body is deeply responsive and incredibly obedient. The body often manifests what the soul continually rehearses inwardly. Fear weakens. Peace restores. This is why inner healing matters.
The Soul Course
Every soul enters life carrying lessons, growth, and invitations into deeper awakening. Life becomes a school for the soul. Some are learning forgiveness. Some are learning identity. Some are learning rest. Some are learning love. Everyone is at different stages of awakening. Sometimes suffering becomes the thing that wakes people up from false identity. Not because God enjoys pain. But because divine love continually calls humanity back into truth.
Yeshua Throughout Scripture
Yeshua did not suddenly appear in the New Testament. He was being revealed throughout all Scripture. Paul said: “And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.” — 1 Corinthians 10:4. He was: the Rock in the wilderness, the manna from heaven, the tree of life, the fire by night, the cloud by day, Joseph rejected by his brothers, Moses leading people out of bondage. All Scripture reveals Christ.
Paul called Jesus the “last Adam.” “The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.” — 1 Corinthians 15:45. The first Adam revealed fallen consciousness. The last Adam revealed restored humanity.
The Prodigal Son
The prodigal son is not a story about an angry God. It is a story about a loving Father. The son left home. This pictures humanity becoming lost in the illusion of separation. But the Father never stopped loving him. The Father waited for him. The Father ran toward him. The Father restored him. The story is found in Luke 15:11–32. The son was always still a son, even while lost. Humanity did not lose value. Humanity forgot union. “For God so loved the world…” — John 3:16. Not loved only good people. Loved the world.
The Carnal Mind
Paul taught: “For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.” — Romans 8:6. The carnal mind lives through: fear, shame, striving, guilt, anxiety, and separation-thinking. But the Spirit brings rest. Many people live in torment because they believe they are separated from God. But Paul declared: “God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself…” — 2 Corinthians 5:19. Union was revealed in Christ.
Returning Home
The whole journey is about remembering. Remembering your union with God. Remembering your true identity. Remembering Christ within. Yeshua prayed: “That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee…” — John 17:21. This is the great mystery. Union. Not distance. Not separation. Not striving. The invitation is to become still. To enter within. To awaken to the Christ already present. As the Psalmist said: “Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10. You are not trying to find a distant God. You are awakening to the One who never left.
